Join the Indiana State Museum in celebrating the life and legacy of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with theater performances, art making activities and film viewings.

10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Speeches of Martin Luther King Jr. Come celebrate “the dream” as riveting video excerpts of the famous speeches of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. play continuously in Legacy Theater.  The theater also features interactive gallery space exhibiting Indiana’s African American experience.

Crafts Children will be inspired by hands-on activities relating to the Civil Rights Movement all day in the museum galleries and take-home crafts.

The Discovery Playground Enjoy our STEM-based Imagination Playground, Lincoln Logs, Duplos, Legos and other activities for kids of all ages.

Gallery Encounters Explore, discover and touch as staff and volunteers provide hands-on experiences throughout the galleries and public spaces of the building.  These brief interactions support the mission of the museum and enhance the visitor experience.  

Hat Tree Theater Enjoy a wide array of gallery performances featuring various characters from Indiana history including Abraham Lincoln, and more.
