14th Annual Indianapolis Propylaeum Salon Society Concert, Dinner and Silent Auction Event

14th Annual Indianapolis Propylaeum Salon Society Concert, Dinner and Silent Auction Event

at Indianapolis Propylaeum

The Propylaeum Historic Foundation will be presenting the 14th Annual Salon Society Concert, Dinner and Silent Auction Event on Sunday, April 17, 2016, with delightful musical entertainment at 3:00 p.m. followed by a silent auction and dinner. This is a fundraiser to maintain and preserve the 126 year-old mansion.

The Indianapolis Propylaeum was founded in 1888 by May Wright Sewall, an Indianapolis educator and internationally known activist for women’s suffrage. In 1923, the Propylaeum acquired the current property and mansion at 1410 North Delaware Street, which was built by an industrialist in 1890. Many public and private events are held at the facility, carrying on the Propylaeum’s tradition of serving as a “gateway to culture.”

To further the preservation of this significant structure in Indianapolis history, this annual fundraiser is open to the public.
