Watercolor is an amazing and versatile medium. It is easily portable and a relatively inexpensive way to get started with painting and explore your creativity. This class will explore the principles and basics of watercolor painting. No experience is necessary. Projects will be geared towards the beginner, but if you have some experience and just want to brush up on your skills and paint with a group, you can pick your own project and the instructor will be happy to provide individual instruction on that as well.
We will cover materials and supplies, techniques for various effects, brushwork, design transfer, color theory, value, and explore different styles. Time will be spent on experimentation with techniques and on individual projects. Students will be given the opportunity to work on exercises at home if desired.
