Caroline Shaw, the youngest musician to ever win the Pulitzer Prize for music, and vocalist Shara Worden join Conductor Edwin Outwater and the ISO for an unforgettable evening of music. Shaw will be performing her own Violin Concerto – a new joint commission from the ISO, North Carolina Symphony, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Princeton Symphony. 

Shara Worden, the lead singer for My Brightest Diamond, has performed with a number of popular modern artists including David Byrne, The Decemberists, Sufjan Stevens and Bon Iver. She will be performing Sarah Kirkland Snider’s Songs from Unremembered.

The ISO also performs Brahms’ Variations on a Theme by Haydn and Sibelius’ The Oceanides.

Fans of rapper Kanye West may recognize Caroline Shaw’s original works. West featured her classical composition Say You Will on the opening track of his popular 2008 album 808’s & Heartbreak.
