If you enjoy telling “people stories” – about real people, the non-fiction kind – this class may be up your alley. Practical advice and insights will be shared about how to craft biographies as well as profiles, which are magazine and newspaper articles often described as “min-biographies”. The class will explore writing about historical figures as well as contemporary subjects, with tips about structure, quotes, resources, interview sources and the handling of descriptions, details and pivotal events.
The instructor will be author Nelson Price, who specializes in biographies of famous Hoosiers such as teenage AIDS activist Ryan White as well as profiles of a wide range of newsmakers.
