Wish Upon a Star

Presented by Philharmonic Orchestra of Indianapolis at Ritz Charles

With over one hundred talented volunteer musicians led by the conductor Orcenith Smith, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Indianapolis will celebrate a diamond anniversary with a musical fundraiser “Wish Upon a Star,” Friday March 4th, 2016 at the Ritz Charles in Carmel, Indiana. “Our mission is to bring music through the lives of our volunteers to the public and we hope you understand how powerful this message can be from our wide variety of performances,” said Orcenith Smith, conductor for the Philharmonic Orchestra.

The evening will begin at 7:00 pm which includes hors d’oeuvres and a unique concert performance comprised of a variety of small groups of musicians performing a range of music throughout the room (jazz, pop, Beatles tribute, classical). Guests will experience the musicians playing in ways they have never heard before. Also members of the Gospel Praise choir will be performing, some acapella and others with the orchestra accompaniment. Together these talented artists will create an amazing evening of entertainment. The guests will also have an opportunity to purchase items during a silent auction that will raise additional funding to support the many musical programs provided, including “Strings and Jazzy Things,” that enriches lives through music. This week-long, tuition-free summer camp is for young musicians who play stringed, wind, brass and percussion instruments. Indiana abounds with a vibrant arts community and the important community programs created by the Philharmonic Orchestra are a legacy that continues to enhance the lives of all Hoosiers. Tickets are $50.00 per person and event information can be found on www.philharmonicindy.org or on www.facebook.com/philharmonicindy.
