Sharing Hoosier History through Stories: T.C. Steele: A Poet, A Philosopher, and a Painter

Presented by Storytelling Arts of Indiana and Indiana Historical Society at Indiana History Center

This Spring, in celebration of the Bicentennial, the Indiana Historical Society will mount an exhibit on T.C. Steele and publish a Deluxe 50th Anniversary Edition of its book, “The House of the Signing Winds: The Life and Work of T.C. Steele. To add another layer to the Bicentennial celebration, Storytelling Arts of Indiana and the Indiana Historical Society have commissioned Lou Ann Homan to develop a story based on T.C. Steele, T.C. Steele: A Poet, A Philosopher, and a Painter.

T.C. Steele captured the essence of the beauty of Indiana through his paintings. Step back in time with Lou Ann Homan as she shares the story of life and loves of this extraordinary man who chose to live by his mantra, “Every morning I take off my hat to the beauty of the world.”
