Watson Park Neighborhood Tour

Watson Park Neighborhood Tour

Presented by Indiana Landmarks at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church

Each Thursday in May, Indiana Landmarks will stage an entertaining walking tour, turning the spotlight on a different historic Indianapolis neighborhood. The tucked-away neighborhood of Watson Park is the destination for our May 19 tour. The National Register-listed district began at the turn of the 20th century as a desirable suburb with community green spaces and deep lawns. In an otherwise generally flat city of linear streets, the Watson Park neighborhood boasts hills and curving, tree-lined streets.

The 90-minute tours involve a one- to one-and-a-half-mile walk led by residents of the neighborhood with Indiana Landmarks docents. Guides will tell the history of each area and its revitalization. You’ll see the range in house styles, get the scoop on average sale prices, and see the interior of one or more buildings. Indiana Landmarks presents the tours with Historic Urban Neighborhoods of Indianapolis and the neighborhood associations in each area.
