Artistic Designs Gallery opens its 3rd Annual Invitational Small Works Fine Art Show Saturday, April 23rd at 1038 E. Main Street in Brownsburg, Indiana. The show features “plein air”oil paintings fresh off the easel by Brownsburg artist Thomas A. Himsel. Himsel, a member of the Indianapolis Plein Air Painters Association has received awards in several prestigious art shows throughout Indiana. “Plein Air” painting captures the essence of light and atmosphere outdoors and on location. Himsel’s most recent works captivate the viewer with the peak of spring emerging at Duke Gardens in North Carolina. This show will appeal to those with a deep appreciation of nature and wildlife. Other local artists with work in the show include Luke Buck, Kathy Blankenheim, Mark Kelso, and Laura Tesdahl.  Artists participating from out of state include Viviane de Kosinsky, Deb Keirce, Luann Houser, Curt Mattson, and Diane Mason. The show includes botanical drawings, hand colored engravings, watercolor landscapes, wildlife paintings, bronze equestrian and wildlife sculpture. The artwork is available for purchase and ranges in size from 5” x 5” to 24” x 28.” The show will run from April 23- May 21 and the artwork is available for viewing on the gallery’s website. All works will remain on exhibit through the duration of the show and may be picked up by or shipped to the buyer after the show closes on May 21st.

Gallery hours are Tuesdays and Thursday from 10 am- 7pm, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 am-5pm, Saturday from 10 am- 4pm, closed Sunday and Monday.
