Duck & Cover: A Historic Bar Crawl through Cold War Indianapolis

Your mission, should you choose to accept it: A top secret tour on June 21 or 22 through Cold War Indianapolis (circa 1948-late 1950s). You’ll be on the lookout for suspicious activity – specifically spies and Communist sympathizers trying to infiltrate the heartland – and you’ll meet the brave men and women whose vigilance is keeping Indianapolis safe from the Red Menace.

The fourth annual Historic Bar Crawl, themed “Duck & Cover,” is created by IndianaHumanities and features Indiana Historical Society historical interpreters acting out scenesfrom Indy’s past.

Crawl through time and explore these pivotal (and possibly confidential) moments in the city’s history – with plenty of surprises we cannot reveal!

WHAT: A historic bar crawl through downtown Indianapolis exploring stories of the Cold War. Attendees will visit four different locations in groups, nosh on thematically appropriate snacks and imbibe on drinks provided by Sun King Brewing Company.

WHEN: Tuesday, June 21, 6 – 9 p.m. 

            OR

            Wednesday, June 22, 6 – 9 p.m. 

PRICE: $60 (includes Sun King Brewing Company beer and food at four locations, plus pre-and after-party) Wine and signature cocktails will also be available.

WHERE: Everyone will begin at IndyFringe Theatre. After a top-secret briefing (along with some complimentary beer and food to whet your appetite), groups will travel to the following locations before ending up back at the IndyFringe Theatre for an after-party:
