Bodies of Work by Tom Potter

Bodies of Work by Tom Potter

Presented by Darkroom Revelations at Gallery C7A

In this new work, Potter explores the relationship between the silhouette and the subtle touches of light that emphasize the mystique of the female form. The major inspirations and influences for Tom’s work with the human form are Ruth Bernhard, Edward Weston and Wynn Bullock. Through studying their images he became aware of the infinite number of artistic possibilities in the world of the nude female form. Tom Potter has spent over 40 years photographing nature and the human form. He has had over 30 exhibits, has taught photography workshops across the U.S. His images are in private collections throughout the country. His figurative work is in the permanent collection of the Kinsey Institute at Indiana University. His book, Sensual Harmonies, which emphasizes light and line of the female form, is in the permanent collection at the George Eastman House in Rochester, NY.

Also on exhibit, black & white silver gelatin images by Nancy Frass & Gayle Moore
