May Meetup - Cey Adams, Graffiti and Hip-Hop

May Meetup - Cey Adams, Graffiti and Hip-Hop

Presented by Visit Indy at Unknown

From street art to designing for some of the biggest names in the music industry, Pattern is thrilled to introduce Cey Adams as the speaker for our May Meetup in partnership with the Garfield Park Arts Center exhibit, “Evoking the Streets: Graffiti and Its Influence”. Originally from New York, Adams began work as a graffiti artist before eventually becoming the founding creative director of Def Jam Recordings. There he oversaw the visual style of many well-known hip hop artists including the Beastie Boys, Run DMC, and LL Cool J. Since then Adams has continued his creative pursuits designing clothes for names including Muhammad Ali, taking part in numerous art exhibitions, and working with various community organizations promoting art to youth.

Please join us to view the exhibit, enjoy some SunKing brews, network and take part in a fireside chat between Cey Adams and one of Indy’s DJ legends Ron Miner, aka DJ Indiana Jones. Come experience this unique opportunity to hear from a hip hop art legend, and hear not just his incredible story, but also learn about his work in pop culture, race and gender relations, cultural and community issues.

As always, there will be plenty of time to connect to our ever growing community of fashion lovers, makers and creatives.
