You’ve poured everything you have into your novel, nonfiction manuscript, or other creative writing endeavor. You’re ready to see your words in print. But wait! Should you hire an editor first? What if she tears your manuscript apart? What if he suggests ways to improve it? What if she tells you something you don’t want to hear? What if he catches your punctuation mistakes and grammatical oopses?
This class will explain everything you need to know about working with an editor: what editors do; when in the writing process it can be helpful to bring an editor on board; where to find good editors; what to look for when hiring an editor; why hiring an editor can benefit your manuscript and you as a writer; and how much time and money the editing process involves. The more you know about working with an editor, the easier the process will be.
