Marianne Glick Opening Reception

Marianne Glick Opening Reception

Presented by Tarkington Tower Art Gallery at Unknown

Local artist Marianne Glick will discuss her featured works in a public art exhibit opening reception Friday, June 17, 6:30-8 p.m. at Tarkington Tower Condominium, 4000 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis.

A philanthropist, business leader and artist, Glick began painting in 2004 “as a way to positivelyapproach the long winter months,” she says. In the spring and summer, she loves to garden, and it was gardening that inspired her first paintings of flowers. From the photographs of the garden in the spring, summer and fall seasons, she says her Indianapolis paintings blossomed into the works she does today.

Glick mostly works in water color and acrylics. Her work has been exhibited at the Indianapolis Art Center, Indianapolis Museum of Art and American United Life Building in Indianapolis as well as the Sullivan Munce Cultural Center and Eagle Creek Coffee Company in Zionsville. Her work has also been presented in juried competitions sponsored by the Watercolor Society of Indiana, California Art Day and others. The artist/philanthropist/business leader is widely respected for her dedication to the Marilyn K. Glick School for Art, an Indianapolis art school and exhibition space located within the outdoor halls of ARTSPARK at the Indianapolis Art Center in Broad Ripple.

Well-known and respected among local artists, Glick also is praised for her philanthropic work here and is president and founder of Glick Training Associates Inc., a company that offers training to increase organizational effectiveness. A leader in Indianapolis society and a staunch member of the local art community, Marianne Glick has come a long way in just a few years. Go to her website www.GlickArt.com for more information.

The Glick exhibit is free and open to the public daily June 17-Aug. 10. The wine and cheese reception June17 is free and open to the public. Free parking is available behind Tarkington Tower or in the parking lot behind the Dr. Martin Luther King Center off of 40th Street, just west of the iconic Mid-Century high-rise.
