Considered one of Mexico’s great cultural treasures, the internationally touring dance company, which is based in Xalapa in the State of Veracruz, was founded in 1985 and is dedicated to illustrating the region’s signature dance styles. The company takes its name from Veracruz’s vibrantly plumed native quetzal bird, and it’s no coincidence that the dancers perform in vibrant, bright costumes as they faithfully recreate the dances one would see at regional festivals. Join the Center in celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month with this colorful and joyous fiesta!
