Obsolete ARTifacts

Obsolete ARTifacts

Presented by Stutz Artists Association at Unknown

Sixteen local artists have  turned recycled and obsolete technology into works of art. Hard drives, cassette tapes, old phones, cable wires, an old sewing machine – old and obsolete items that have been recycled and transformed into remarkable art that will be on display at the Raymond James Stutz Art Gallery July 8-29. The Stutz Artists Association, in partnership with Sun King Brewery, will open their new exhibit, titled “Obsolete ARTifacts,” Friday, July 8, 5-9 pm, in the Raymond James Stutz Art Gallery. Artists participating in “Obsolete ARTifacts” were challenged creatively to use at least one piece of obsolete technology. As most artists do, they broke down the tech item, reinterpreted the material, and created one-of-a-kind, never before seen recycled art. Sun King Brewery will be on-hand during the opening reception – the Indianapolis-based craft brewery will also sponsor the People’s Choice and Best of Show awards. Voting for People’s Choice will take place throughout the exhibition.
