Primary Colours Gallery: Ghostie House Stories : Rascals, Moppets, and Precarious Conditions

at Primary Colours Gallery

Primary Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition featuring the latest body of work from Susanna Hoone. The compelling exhibit is a visual documentation of her personal journey with motherhood, life, and cancer. She attempts to capture provocative and awkward aspects of life that cannot quite be defined or caged. Through paint, wood, cardboard, and clay, Hoone addresses the mysteries of baby language, animal speak, dream visitation, and the betrayal of the body while reminding the viewer that every step in life is a gamble.

The prolific Indianapolis artist studied at the Herron School of Art and Design earning her degree in 2006. Hoone works in mixed media, painting, and sculpture. Even though painting and drawing are currently her predominant mediums, she always will create in 3D. Her fondness for the transformation and problem solving process are necessary for creating art out of found objects. The Indiana native currently resides in Broad Ripple and finds encouragement and creative support from her boyfriend.

The gallery exhibit is in partnership with Little Red Door Cancer Agency whose mission is to make the most out of life and least of cancer. The Agency offers services and resources for cancer patients and preventative care resources.
