Controlled Entropy

Controlled Entropy

Presented by Stutz Artists Association at Unknown

This gallery exhibition features the creative works of 2015-16 Stutz Residency Grant Winners Kristy Hughes and Jessica Springman. The highlight of the exhibit is a collaboration piece showcasing each artists’ unique style and techniques – Hughes started the piece; Springman completed it. Entropy is a lack of order or predictability; a gradual decline. In both of their works, there are many elements that have the potential to be chaotic. While both artists work in very different ways, their commonality lies in the fact that they both bring control and order to their compositions. Their pieces end up being both elaborate yet restrained, structured yet chaotic. They have a sense or potential towards entropy, yet controlled.
