During the month of November, Artistic Designs Gallery will showcase “The Art of Balance,” a series of mixed-media works by Morgan County artist Lynne Medsker, at 1038 E. Main Street in Brownsburg, Indiana. The exhibit features her “Cairns” series which springs from Medsker’s lifelong affection for collecting and embellishing rocks in all forms. The show also includes her lovely Mandalas and Batik watercolors on fine handmade paper.

Lynne was naturally drawn to Cairns, which are carefully balanced rock or stone formations and can be found worldwide in seemingly every culture. A Cairn can impart a directional path or guide as well as a spiritual journey message for those who experience them. Within Lynne’s works lies layers to be explored of paint, materials, and textures. The beauty and color of her patterns and compositions are eye-catching and thought provoking. Each piece invites the viewer to experience a sense of unity, calm and invigoration just by being present and observant. Experience a little Zen, the feeling of balance, and creative inspiration.

The gallery will be closed Wednesday, November 23- 25 for Thanksgiving.
