Workshop with Anne Beck: Director & Choreographer of THE MUSIC MAN

This 90 minute Workshop will consist of a warm-up and choreography combinations similar to what will be taught at the auditions for THE MUSIC MAN. This workshop is designed specially for our YAP students to help you be most prepared for your audition the following week.

About Anne Beck: Anne Beck spent 14 yrs living in NYC performing on Broadway, touring in Broadway National Tours and performing with regional theatres across the country. Now residing in Indianapolis Anne still performs, directs, teaches, and choreographs locally in Indy as well as across US and Canada and abroad. She has received numerous awards for choreography both in the dance and theatrical worlds.

As a performer she has worked with The Indianapolis Symphony in HAIRSPRAY w/ John Waters and Micky Dolenz, HELLO DOLLY w/ Gary Beach and Sandi Patty, GUYS AND DOLLS w/ Hal Linden, On Broadway KANDER AND EBB w/ Beth Leavel, ANYTHING GOES w/ Rachel York and many of their touring Pops productions.

Some additional credits include: Saturday Night Fever(original broadway cast), The Who’s Tommy(sally simpson), Cats(bombalurina), A Chorus Line(Cassie), Gentlemen Prefer Blondes w/Barbara Eden. Anne has appeared here on Civic’s stage as Mimi in Rent and Cassie in A Chorus Line. She has choreographed numerous shows for civic including Rent, Little Shop of Horrors, Joseph…Dreamcoat, Willy Wonka, Wizard of Oz. She choreographed and assistant directed last years acclaimed Les Miserables and directed A Cat in the Hat.

Anne Beck is the Young Artists Program Coordinator at Civic Theatre.
