The Right to Peaceful Assemblage: Robin Toulouse

Presented by Full Circle Nine Gallery at Unknown

The Full Circle Nine Gallery (FC9) is proud to announce Robin Toulouse, and her show, “The Right to Peaceful Assemblage” as the featured artist for the March IDADA First Friday Art Tour, on Friday, March 3rd. The show will premiere 6-9pm, and admission is free.

“I want to convey the idea that objects tell stories,” says Toulouse. “The most important lesson I learned working in the artifact collects department at the Children’s Museum for 20 years was the power of objects in our lives. I want to convey that power to my audience.”

About Robin Toulouse

Robin Toulouse graduated the Herron School of Art with a BFA in painting and printmaking. Since then, she’s turned her attention to assemblage, three-dimensional elements combined to create a composition, similar to collage, and generally including found objects. “I chose assemblage—more accurately, it chose me—as my primary means of expression because I love telling stories with objects, and because I love the endless combination of materials and techniques it allows,” says Toulouse.

Toulouse works in memories and nostalgia and aims to bring to life the stories they hold. “I hope that patrons, seeing the stories I tell in my pieces, will leave thinking of their own important stories, and will be compelled to share those stories with their loved ones and friends—in whatever medium they choose,” says Toulouse.
