In association with the April 13 – May 14 exhibit at Central Library, “States of Incarceration,” adults are invited for a screening of the documentary, “13,” a 2016 film that centers on race in the criminal justice system and titled after the 13th amendment to the U.S. Constitution which outlaws slavery. Following the film, a local panel will feature Dr. James Kilgore, an author, activist and university lecturer who appears in the documentary; Dr. Terri Jett, Associate Professor of Political Science at Butler University and Board President of the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana; and those affected by incarceration. This program is presented in partnership with the IUPUI Humanities Action Lab. This program will be held in Central Library’s Clowes Auditorium.
