Description:

The Music for All National Festival, presented by Yamaha is a national showcase of the finest instrumental scholastic music, selected by audition from across the country to perform. The festival comprises the National Concert Band Festival, the Orchestra America National Festival, the Sandy Feldstein National Percussion Festival, the Chamber Music National Festival, and the Middle School National Music Festival, as well as three national honor ensembles – the Honor Band of America, Honor Orchestra of America and the Jazz Band of America. The selected ensembles were invited by achieving the highest level of musical performance and artistry. The National Concert Band Festival serves as a model for noncompetitive performance and education festivals nationwide, with participating musicians also receiving master classes and clinics with renowned artists and educators.

 

 

Festival Honor Ensembles

The Jazz Band of America is comprised of high school musicians, selected by recorded audition. The Jazz Band of America is recognized as one of the top honor ensembles for young musicians in the nation, with a prestigious legacy and reputation for the highest level of excellence. Many members of the Jazz Band of America are also selected for the GRAMMY® jazz bands. The Jazz Band of America will perform Friday night (in a shared concert with the Honor Orchestra of America), March 10, 8:00 p.m. at Clowes Memorial Hall, directed by Michael Tomaro, Director of Jazz Studies at Duquesne University.

 

The Honor Band of America is a national, honor ensemble showcasing outstanding high school musicians from across the country. Hear some of America’s finest student musicians as they create this national ensemble. The Honor Band of America will perform Saturday night, March 11, 8 p.m. at Clowes Memorial Hall, directed by Michael Colburn, Director of Bands at Butler University.

 

Honor Orchestra of America members hail from across the country, from music programs large and small. The Honor Orchestra of America will perform Friday, March 10, 8 p.m., in a shared concert with the Jazz Band of America at Clowes Memorial Hall. The Honor Orchestra will also perform on Saturday, March 11, 8 p.m., at the Howard L. Schrott Center for the Arts. The Honor Orchestra of America will be conducted by Jeffrey Grogan, Education and Community Engagement Conductor of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Conductor and Artistic Director of the Greater Newark Youth Orchestras, the InterSchool Orchestras of New York, and the New Jersey Youth Symphony.

Admission Info

Ticket/Admission Prices:

Tickets for the concert band ensemble blocks range from $6 to $46. Tickets for the Friday evening Honor Orchestra and Jazz Band of America are $15.  Tickets for the Saturday evening Chamber Music Concert and Honor Orchestra of America performance are also $15. Tickets for the Honor Band of America are $22 – $35.
