Lakota Girls explores the present, the past, and the future with the relationship of two eight-year-old girls in Western South Dakota, one Native and one White. In the midst of ongoing racism, the girls discover a connection to each other.
This screening is the first public showing of the Indie feature film Lakota Girls in Indiana. Local filmmaker, Molli Elliott Cameron, is the writer/director/co-producer. Her film won the People’s Choice Award at the US Premiere in South Dakota at the Black Hills Film Festival. The last screening was in Hollywood, California at the International Family Film Festival. It is a heartfelt story of family and friendship in the West.
