“TERRA” by Marsh Watson will be featured at Art Bank Gallery August 4-31. 
Manipulating art mediums to grow connections with earth, stone, and stratus is the theme of this series of paintings: Terra. Terra, referring to earth or unknown land, serves as a nod to the concept of the series.

ALL317HIPHOP – The story of hiphop in Indianapolis told through pictures.
The ALL317HIPHOP exhibit chronicles the passion and dedication of independent hiphop artists chasing their dreams in the city of Indianapolis. The photo exhibit takes an up close and personal look at the Indianapolis hiphop scene by capturing not only the artists but the interactions with their supporters.. The Athenaeum ArtSpace (2nd floor), is open to the public, everyday 8a–7p.

“Connecting the Lines” exhibition of a mural by Heeseop Yoon. Yoon creates large-scale line drawing installations and very intricate black and white drawings. Her mural installation at CityWay Gallery will be a large drawing composed of black masking tape on Mylar and an Indianapolis specific wallpaper installation on the gallery’s columns. Heeseop Yoons exhibit opens June 30 and remains up until December 31.

GIRLY STEEL, the artwork of Joanie Drizin: landscape sculptures made by welding and bending iron, steel, rebar and utilizing found objects, rough rock, unpolished glass. Botanical shapes can be seen in her pieces she allows to rust so that they blend with nature. Drizin taught for 10 years at the Indianapolis Art Center. Her works are seen on the grounds of the Indianapolis Art Museum.

Clay artist Nathan Winship Smith, ‚”Social Constructions: Set In Stone” will be the featured. The show will premiere 6-9pm; admission is free. ‚ÄúMy pieces come off as Lithic Stones, or Building Blocks, and represent modes of social construction by way of form and imagery,‚Äù said the Artist-in-Residence at the Beech Grove Clay Works, which partners with FC9.

IDADA, the Indianapolis Downtown Artists and Dealers Association, is a 501(c)(6) non-profit membership-based organization of artists, art galleries and arts-related businesses within the 20-block radius of the center of Indianapolis. The founders of the IDADA First Friday Art Tour, IDADA’s primary focus is the creation and marketing of unique and original local art.

IDADA is governed by its membership through a Board of Directors, including a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. All positions and activity are on a volunteer basis.
