Ball State professor talks about Gothic Revival in American architecture and furniture.
In connection with the “Furnishing Touch” exhibit, Kristin Barry from the College of Architecture and Planning at Ball State University will speak on the Gothic Revival in domestic architecture and furniture, especially as an extension of the morality movement of the time as driven by AWN Pugin, Harriet Beecher Stowe and Catherine Beecher, and Andrew Jackson Downing. The lecture is made possible by a grant from the Indiana Humanities Initiative and is organized in conjunction with Carmel Clay Historical Society.
