Bollywood Session, March 14 - May 2

at Basile Opera Center

Bollywood is an upbeat fusion dance class that showcases Indian traditional (Bhangra), classical and modern (influenced by Hip Hop and salsa) movement. It is one of the most lively, vibrant and rhythmic dance styles.

Using a creative mix of technique, energy, emotion, but most of all massive fun, Usha Sirimalle will teach you poses, grace, hand and foot movements and expressions, all key elements of Bollywood dance, and allow you to explore the meanings of songs, then dance and act them out.

Usha began dancing in her home town in India at the age of 3, where through the years she continued her dance training in various styles of Indian dance and choreography. She moved to Wichita, Kansas to pursue her Master’s Degree and was part of the International Cultural Society choreographing and performing for university events. In 2004, she moved to Lafayette, Indiana and began her teaching career.
