Poetry in Free Motion

Presented by Indy Arts Council at Indianapolis Artsgarden

A collaborative project between quilters and poets, Poetry in Free Motion brings together the visual and literary arts.

Originating from conversations between quilter Mary Hawn and her husband JL Kato, the first program took place in 2010. Quilters and poets have been paired to create new work with quilts inspiring poems and poems inspiring quilts.

Poetry in Free Motion is a project of the Quilt Connection Guild and Brick Street Poetry, Inc.

Also throughout the Artsgarden:

Quilting Words: A progressive poem project from 12 central Indiana poets.
