The Moving Company's "Dear Diary"

This April, The Moving Company at IUPUI presents “Dear Diary”.  The evening celebrates moments in our lives that make each day stand out. Director Paige Prill Craigie has choreographed a stylized tango to an excerpt of Arturo Marquez’s Danzon #2. Adrienne Jackson of Create Freedom Arts Project and David Lovett will also have pieces showcased by the IUPUI dancers along with dances chosen from the 17thAnnual Student Choreography Show. Special performance by the J2 dancers from Martinsville, IN & Dance Dynamics of Lafayette, IN

The Moving Company at IUPUI is a non-profit organization first formed in 1983, by then student Margot Faught. It has continued its growth under the direction of Mary Maitland Kimball and entered the new millennium with Paige Prill Craigie. The purpose is to give a performing outlet for IUPUI students while also fulfilling credits needed for the IUPUI dance minor. This student organization is currently funded primarly by private donations, and fundraising by the members. The Moving Company hopes to expand awareness and education of the arts thoughout IUPUI and the Indianapolis area. The company is open to all styles of dance including jazz, modern, ballet, and tap. The company has three major shows throughout the school year, and a few smaller performances. Moving Company members are Freshman through Post Graduate students. Their majors cross disciplines including Biochemistry, Criminal Justice to Painting, Nursing and Philanthropic Studies.
