Competition Guidelines:

1. Registration opens March 1, 2017. Registration is $15 for adults 21 and older, $10 for youth 16-20. You can register by visiting the Garfield Park Arts Center during our open hours, or by calling (317) 327-7135 (credit card only). Artists must register to participate in the competition by May 6, 2017.

2. One painting may be submitted per person. Paintings must be submitted, ready to hang or install, to the Garfield Park Arts Center no later than June 3, 2017.

3. Paintings must be created between the dates of March 1 – June 3, 2017. You may choose to participate in one of our Paint Days, or paint at your own convenience. Accepted mediums are Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor, and Mixed Media. While you do not necessarily have to paint a scene from Indy Parks, it is strongly encouraged. The arts center is a family friendly venue, so submissions with adult themes may be rejected if deemed inappropriate.

4. Paintings will be on display in our main gallery July 1 – 29, 2017. Opening Reception and Award Ceremony: Friday, July 7, 2017, 6-8pm.

5. Awards will be granted to winners selected by a juried panel: Grand Prize ($1000), 2nd Place ($500), 3rd Place ($300).
