Cross Section Portfolio Exit Show

Cross Section Portfolio Exit Show

Presented by Ivy Tech State College Art Department at The Gallery at Ivy Tech Community College

Come one! Come all! Join us in celebrating the diversity found within the visual arts. Presented by eight emerging visionaries, “Cross-Section” is a visually appetizing spectacle highlighting eclectic works influenced by everything from the surreal, the spiritual, to the off-beat. Move from a technical backbone to a naive heart and find yourself lost in the obsessive brain of this dynamic art collective. “Cross-Section” has what it takes to amaze you in an Art-a-Palooza extravaganza!

The artists featured are currently enrolled in the Fine Arts Portfolio class at Ivy Tech Community College.

Specifically, our class is looking to raise funds for the following expenses: opening reception appetizers and refreshments, cutlery, paper goods, printing and advertisement, tablecloths, and decorations. Additionally, funds are needed as soon as possible. We are currently piecing together the exhibition and can’t wait to share it with you!

This is a learning opportunity for each of us as we explore the professional practices of the business of being an artist. We are experiencing every aspect of developing, curating, and completing an art exhibition from beginning to end.

The following statements are from students of the portfolio class expressing their gratitude:

“My journey began as a non-traditional student. The opportunity to share my experiences through my art is a dream come true.” Maureen Minor May”

“This exhibition will open the door for future opportunities.” Brandon Crawford-Wallis

“Learning the ins and outs of putting on a show is important to me. It is going to help me grow as an artist because I always need to know the why behind it all.” Kristalynn Price

“This will give me validation for past work.” Michael Kane

“Piece by piece, I use my motivation to reach my desired destination.””
Arthur Davenport

“I am excited to share my experiences through my work with my friends, family, and new faces.”
Kathleen Hoffman

“At my age, 87 years strong, I want to motivate people through my art to learn, explore and have opportunities regardless of their age. ” “Delores “gigi” Johnson

We thank you for your support and please come see the show!
