This small intensive workshop is for playwrights who have a full first draft of a full-length play (or almost) and want to bury themselves in the play and work it. The session will start with an intense outline session workshopping structural elements of the play and deconstructing what is already there. A full reading will follow with actors specifically chosen for the play, with critique and agreements on a re-write plan. If appropriate, a second reading will following. (Number of readings will depend on number of participants and length of the plays in the mix.) The final class will focus on next steps for the plays in the workshop. (Pre-requisite: students must have taken the Foundations of Playwriting & Advanced Playwriting classes, or receive the instructor’s permission)(andrewblacksf@gmail.com)
