Take a walk on the wild side on Friday, July 7 from 6 to 9pm, when the Harrison Gallery presents “Wild Kingdom,” a group show featuring work by Emma Overman, Justin Cooper, Geoff Davis, Greg Potter, and Candice Hartsough.

In Speck Gallery, brother artists Eric and Aaron Lubrick’s show “Hey Twin Boy” is about the coming of age as identical twins. “As some have said, we are a ‘two for one deal.’ . . . Being an identical twin is a real life magic trick surrounded by a sort of excitement, surprise and awkwardness.”

HCA studio artist and curator, Kyle Ragsdale’s City Gallery show, “New Kids on the Block” is based on photos taken in his Fountain Square neighborhood. Ragsdale says, “My downtown neighborhood is like the neighborhood I grew up in where there are always kids of all ages running and jumping through yards, laughing and playing and adults setting old Christmas trees on fire.”

The Gallery Annex features “Wayfinding” by encaustic artist Elizabeth Guipe Hall. Hall writes, “We are always reinventing ourselves and searching for a way to reach the next phase of life.  Wayfinding is a meditation on my path to the future.  The work in this series is filled with images of roads, rivers, boats, planes, balloons, lakes and mountains.  For me these objects symbolize the need to keep looking forward, and the desire to travel, explore and learn about myself and the world.”

Painter Nathan Foxton’s “Urban Vision,” in Hank & Dolly’s Gallery takes inspiration from the people and places he encounters around urban Indianapolis.

In the Underground, current and past Harrison Center studio artists come together for the group show, “Tenets,” curated by Nathan Foxton.

The work hangs through July 28.
