Hendricks Symphony Presents Leonard Cheatham and Friends

Leonard Cheatham, principal cellist of the Hendricks Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Benjamin G. Del Vecchio, will perform a free concert on Sunday, October 29 at 3 p.m. at Bartlett Chapel United Methodist Church (4396 East Main Street, Avon.) Leonard will be joined by pianist Amy Eggleston

Leonard Cheatham has served as principal cellist of a number of community and professional orchestras across the U.S. A graduate of DePauw University’s School of Music, he has studied with Cassell Grubb, Orlando Cole and Scott Ballantyne. He has played solo cello concertos with the North Carolina Symphony, San Marcos Symphony and the Phoenix Symphony, and regularly gives cello recitals. He has been involved with many chamber music groups and is currently a member of the Kuralen Piano Trio. He was Assistant Principal Cellist of the North Carolina Symphony, and the cellist of the U.S. Navy String Quartet, where he performed at the White House. He formed a sight reading orchestra while living in Arizona in 2005, known as the Arizona Repertory Orchestra, which meets in the summer and plays a full orchestral program, without rehearsal. He served on the Board of the Hendricks Symphonic Society for 7 years and was President of that organization for 2 years.
