Celebrate the Year of Vonnegut with the Kurt Vonnegut Museum and Library, Indiana Writers Center, and Indy Reads Books by reading and dicussing a delicious selection of banned books.
Since Margaret Atwood’s novel, The Handmaid’s Tale, was published in 1985, its has been challenged/banned often for sex, profanity, and adult themes. Sales of the book have skyrocketed since the 2016 presidential election and the adaptation of the book to a series on Hulu. Some believe the book is especially discomforting in the changing world we live in today.
Join us at Gallery 924, who will be hosting a Vonnegut-themed art show, on Wednesday Decemeber 13 for a discussion on this classic example of dystopian fiction.
