Poetry as Memoir: Exploring the Terrain

Poetry as Memoir: Exploring the Terrain

Presented by Indiana Writers Center at Indiana Writers Center

Instructor:  Shari Wagner

This poetry workshop will focus on the process of generating first drafts for at least four memoir poems. The sessions, rather than critique-based, will be process-oriented, with time for discussions of prompts and sample poems, as well as many collaborative and individual activities designed to help you explore your life experiences or the experiences of someone close to you, such as a parent or grandparent. Our first workshop will delve into the significance of an inheritance. This inheritance might be an object or a skill. If possible, bring to class the inheritance or something related to it.
