The entire community is invited to kick off 2018 with a free showing of the film, “A Raisin in the Sun,” a 1961 classic that follows a black family in search of a better life away from the city. This program celebrates the stage production of “A Raisin in the Sun” at the Indiana Repertory Theatre from January 10 through February 3. Before the film, tours of the Center for Black Literature & Culture at Central Library will be conducted. Following the film, there will be a discussion about its themes led by Richard J. Roberts, IRT’s Resident Dramaturg. Though registration is not required, RSVP is recommended at www.irtlive.com. This film will be shown in Central Library’s Clowes Auditorium. The film discussion will take place in the Center for Black Literature & Culture at Central Library.
