Glovinski’s highly realistic drawings and sculptural objects explore and celebrate the patterns and organizing systems found in everyday objects such as woven rugs and dish towels, the webbed strips of a beach chair, and objects like takeaway food cartons.  Her use of trompe l’oeil techniques bend perceptions of common objects to create awareness of the act of “seeing” and the relationship of concept, materials, and the iconography of objects. There have been many times when exhibition visitors mistake them for the real things and sit on them thinking they are real chairs or throw them away, as in the case of a food takeaway carton.

She has had recent solo exhibitions at Carroll & Sons in Boston and 2SArtSpace in Portsmouth, N.H. Her first solo show in New York City; “How to Build a Fire” will open in February at Morgan Lehman gallery.

Glovinsky has received grants from the Berkshire Taconic Foundation and the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation; she’s completed residencies at MASS MoCA in North Adams, Mass. and the Teton Art Lab in Jackson, WY.

Her work has been included in exhibitions at deCordova Museum and Sculpture Park (Lincoln, MA), The Center for Maine Contemporary Art (Rockland, ME), Jacksonville Museum of Contemporary Art (Jacksonville, FL), Boston Center for the Arts (Boston, MA), Portland Museum of Art (Portland, ME), and the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey (Summit, NJ).
