The Art of Painting Flowers with Pam Newell

​Fill your work with light and energy and hone your skills, by painting your favorite flowers. Learn to block in and capture the gesture and essence of this beautiful, but fleeting subject. – Discover how light creates form and so much more! Some Garden Roses will be provided, and are included in the fee. Bring a favorite vase, container or pitcher, and other favorite fresh flowers and foliage (they may be cut or in pots)– whatever makes you want to paint!

We will discuss floral painting art as inspired by the Masters; and have lively discussions about values, hard and soft edges, transparent vs. opaque color, focal point, brushwork, palette knife and more. There will be an instructor demo and lots of individual attention.

Lights, stands and backdrop stations will be provided for each artist. A materials list is found on my website. This workshop is open to all skill levels and styles; some drawing or painting experience is recommended. The main emphasis is on oil painting; however, all media are welcome.
