The ACT Academy returns to the mainstage with a dramatic tour de force for the 28^th season. Back by popular demand, “SNATCHED”-A Passage to Madness.

Adapted by Deborah Asante from the original drama, “The Middle Passage” written by Crystal V. Rhodes and Deborah Asante, this production will enlighten, and shock as black teenagers are snatched back in time and find themselves at the center of an ancient struggle. Performed by members of the Asante Children’s Theatre Academy together with adult mentor actors, SNATCHED will return for ONE WEEKEND ONLY at the Madame Walker Theatre located at 617 Indiana Avenue, Indianapolis, IN. Thursday February 22^nd through Sunday February 25^th.

“SNATCHED”-A Passage to Madness is a controversial story of the transatlantic slave trade and its parallels with today’s society. This production not only explores the journey from Africa to America through the eyes of several misguided youth, but also the long-term impact that greed can have on society when we value financial gain over morality. SNATCHED premiered last June and was received with critical acclaim by audiences in Indianapolis.

Due to the language content, “SNATCHED”-A Passage to Madness is rated PG-13.  There will be a facilitated discussion with both the actors and our audience immediately following the Friday and Sunday shows.

Performance dates are: Thursday February 22^nd, Friday February 23^rd, and Saturday February 24^th at 8:00pm and Sunday February 25^th at 4:00pm.

“THURSDAY is COMMUNITY NIGHT” All Seats $5!  Admission for the rest of the run is priced to encourage group attendance. Advance tickets for all are $10. Day of Show tickets are $12.
