Experience Ensemble Voltaire’s final concert celebrating their 30th Anniversary with special guest, Barthold Kuijken.
The members of Ensemble Voltaire, which operates under the umbrella of Indy Baroque Music, play a very special concert, celebrating the ensemble’s 30th anniversary. On May 30, 1987, Ensemble Ouabache (now called Ensemble Voltaire) gave its debut performance at Trinity Episcopal Church, Indianapolis, to a glowing review by Jay Harvey in the Indianapolis Star. In the intervening three decades, the ensemble has played an annual concert series in Indianapolis as well as touring dates throughout the USA. Two of the founding members, flutist Barbara Kallaur and harpsichordist Thomas Gerber, are joined by Voltaire members Allison Nyquist, violin, Christine Kyprianides, viol, and John Abberger, oboe, plus special guest Barthold Kuijken, flute, in music by some of the group’s favorite composers: Bach, François Couperin, and Telemann.
