Bass Peter Volpe comes to the Indianapolis Opera to teach a Master Class open to the public as well as theater students and professionals.
International American bass, Peter Volpe, possess a vast repertoire of over ninety roles from the classics of Mozart and Verdi to world premiers of new works. Praised by the New York Times for his “stentorian” and “robust bass”, Volpe has performed with esteemed companies throughout the country and the world such as the Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Arizona Opera, San Francisco Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Vancouver Opera, Oper Stuttgart, as well as the opera houses of Montreal, Tokyo, Shanghai, Prague, Bremen, and Düsseldorf. In addition to opera, he boasts concerts with the Philharmonia Orchestra of London, the Manhattan Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra to name a few. He is a faculty member at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.
