10th Annual Indiana Artisan Marketplace

10th Annual Indiana Artisan Marketplace

Presented by Indiana Artisan at Indiana State Fairgrounds

The Indiana Artisan Marketplace returns to the Expo Hall at the Indiana State Fairgrounds April 7-8, 2018. More than 100 artisans from across Indiana and Kentucky will showcase their original art and food. These artisans have been selected as among the best by art and food jury panels created by Indiana Artisan and Kentucky Crafted.

The Indiana Artisan Marketplace is the place to buy original one-of- a-kind artwork, fine craft, and artisan food directly from those who create it. Visitors will have an opportunity to meet the artisans in person, watch them create before their eyes and develop relationships with their favorite artisans while celebrating Indiana talent
and creativity. 2018 marks the 10th Anniversary of the Indiana Artisan organization. To celebrate this milestone, this year’s marketplace will include a new and exciting event: “All IN”, a must-see gallery exhibit featuring the finest work by Indiana Artisans. This exhibit will run concurrently with the Indiana Artisan Marketplace in the Expo Hall, and is included with Marketplace admission.

“Our goal with the Marketplace is to connect the creator of the artwork and producer of the food with those who are eager to find high quality, locally handcrafted work,” said Amy Greely, co-chair of the Indiana Artisan Marketplace for 2018. Greely is an Indiana Artisan who handcrafts unique jewelry in Brown County. Indiana Artisans include Artists – painters, woodworkers, jewelry designers, weavers; and Artisans – beekeepers, winemakers, makers of specialty cheeses, chocolate and more. Eric Freeman, Program Manager says, “An Indiana Artisan is a Hoosier recognized for careful attention to detail, knowledge of their craft and an entrepreneurial spirit. His or her talent contributes to Indiana’s reputation for quality work.”

The Indiana Artisan organization was established in 2008 by a resolution of the Indiana Legislature to identify, recognize and promote the state’s highest-quality art, craft and foods. More than 200 artisans have been juried into the program and represent the Indiana Artisan brand in over 63 counties.
