From the conductor, Orcenith Smith:
The Philharmonic focuses on a children’s program for its March program at the Indianapolis Public Library. Acknowledging that music is a language like no other, how that music is presented with instruments can create a conversation with adults and children alike on the expressive benefit of learning from the instruments. How they sound, how they can collaborate, and how they can create a result, show how they become a piece of music and a work of art. While the topic of a book can be its title, and the letters and words are strung together can create something greater, so, too, if we begin to understand how instruments and music work, we can appreciate that work as musical art!
