Free Family Concert as part of Indianapolis Early Music Festival

Free Family Concert as part of Indianapolis Early Music Festival

Presented by Indianapolis Early Music at Indiana History Center

Children of all ages are exposed to the music of instruments that were the fore-runners of the instruments that they know today. Members of Ayreheart, a trio, have been influenced by American folk, bluegrass, and jazz, and will perform on such instruments as the lute, the colasclione, and vionon. These were the popular instruments in the times of William Shakespeare and heard in the courts of Europe. This is very much of a participatory event geared to toddlers on up through elementary school aged children. After the concert, families are invited to come on stage to learn a Renaissance dance and to get up “close and personal” with the instruments.
