Indianapolis Early Music Festival concert by Tempesta Di Mare

Indianapolis Early Music Festival concert by Tempesta Di Mare

Presented by Indianapolis Early Music at Indiana History Center

Sara and Her Sisters is from the collections of three Jewish sisters who defied boundaries of class, religion, and gender to become cultural tastemakers in 1780’s Berlin. Sara Levy was the great-aunt of Felix Mendelssohn. With every performance Tempesta Di Mare creates a sense of discovery. This stems from the ensemble’s signature interpretive approach to baroque music as a dramatic, rhetorical craft — like motion and acting — an approach shared by the composers and performers when the music is new.
