Indianapolis – Gesture: A Photographic Exhibition, featuring artwork created by Heron School of Art and Design Seniors, Selena Swisher and Randa Payton, will be on display in the Marian University Art Gallery located in Marian Hall from April 13th – April 30th 2018.

Gesture: A Photographic Exhibition, is a BFA senior thesis show which includes multiple pieces by Randa Payton and Selena Swisher. Randa Payton is from Bedford, Indiana graduating with her B.F.A.in photography this May from Herron School of Art and Design at IUPUI. Her most recent work has centered on struggles with anxiety and how it is represented in her mind. This has developed into an ongoing series of self-portraits featuring hands that act as the physical manifestation of her anxiety. Selena Swisher is from Indianapolis, Indiana who is also graduating with a B.F.A. in photography this May from Herron School of Art and Design at IUPUI. Her recent work is a mixture of photography and painting mediums. She has worked with painting mediums where she strongly uses hand gestures to make a physical connection to her work. She finds something that she likes or dislikes and either embellishes, multiplies, or erases it completely giving her work an abstract form.
