Individuals of all ages are invited for activities that celebrate the African American experience through arts, crafts, ethnic food and clothes while bringing together different components of the literary world. With the theme, “Words of Strength: A Juneteenth Celebration,” there will be indoor and outdoor presentations throughout the Library by writers, spoken word poets, visual artists, storytellers and musicians to emphasize cultural literacy. Other activities include a writer’s workshop, local book club conference, coloring and face painting for kids, author signings, and vendor merchandise. This program is sponsored by the Center for Black Literature & Culture at Central Library and the Library’s African American History Committee.
