On December 4, 1956, Sun Records founder Sam Phillips had gathered Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis in his studio to record some new songs. By chance, after an appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show, Elvis Presley walked in, as did Johnny Cash. Before you know it, Phillips started to record the jam session.
“It gives me chills to imagine how much legendary talent was in that recording studio that day,” said ATI co-founder Don Farrell, playing the role of Sam Phillips. “Million Dollar Quartet captures the spirit of that historic night. When this played two years ago in Carmel, the show broke our box office records, making this truly back by popular demand.”
The show was created in 2006 and was a Broadway hit in 2010. Since that time, it has played to rave reviews across the nation and has become a multi-million-dollar jukebox musical.
In addition to Farrell, the cast also includes Gavin Rohrer as Jerry Lee Lewis, Sean Riley as Carl Perkins, Brandon Alstott as Johnny Cash, Adam Tran as Elvis Presley, Nathan Shew as Fluke , Kroy Presley as Brother Jay and Betsy Norton as Dyanne.
Tickets $20 (student price) – $45 depending on day and time of show. Wednesday’s are $25 a show.
