Art work capturing the artist’s fascination with all types of passages. Greece and her art were major parts of her own “second life”.
Patricia Mae Peat Dusendschon was an art historian, art instructor, and “an extraordinarily gifted artist.” She was born in Akron, Ohio on August 30, 1938 to Wilbur Peat and Tilitha Rasmussen Peat. Her father was the director of the Akron Art Institute and later John Herron Art Institute.
After her marriage failed, Patricia Dusendschon moved to Athens, Greece where she became an English and art teacher at Pierce – the American College of Greece. In addition to her teaching, Patricia Dusendschon created numerous works of art using pastels, watercolor and mixed media to capture the light and shadow of the Aegean world. Patricia Mae Peat Dusendschon died in Athens on New Year’s Eve 2011. Although many of her works were remain in Greece, we are pleased to share these vibrant pieces!
